Quick answers

Common questions

Short answers for owners, managers, and webmasters.

Do I need this to appear on HPYHR?

No. HPYHR still relies primarily on venue pages today. This file is optional.

Do I need an account?

No. The generator, checker, and submit flow all work without an account or dashboard.

Where should the file live?

Preferred path is yoursite.com/hpyhr.json on the same host as the venue website. A same-host location path can also work when needed.

What if nothing changed?

Review the live file and resubmit the same file to HPYHR. You do not need to rewrite the file just to re-check it.

Should I paste or use a live URL in Checker?

Paste is the safest option. Use the live URL when you want to test the hosted file and the website allows browser fetches.

Do I need one file per location?

Usually yes. Use the exact venue page URL for the location you want HPYHR to match.

What do Gold, Silver, and Bronze mean?

They reflect freshness. Gold is updated in the last 6 months, Silver in the last 9, and Bronze in the last 12.

What if my webmaster is handling this?

Start with Start Here, then send them the Technical Spec or Generator page if your team wants to use the file. Once the file is live, use Checker and then Submit.

What is the easiest order to follow?

For this optional venue file: Start Here -> Generator -> Checker -> Submit. Use Technical Spec only when someone is building the file directly.
